The Pink Hippo has developed an exclusive, patent-pending clip system that was designed with function in mind.
We use three types of clips: Snap clips, Alligator Clips, & French Clips. The Snap Clips are velvet lined and function as a progressive 4 stage system. As your little girl grows and gets more hair, she will move up to the next stage. Not only does the clip get a little bigger at each stage, so does the bow. So, the bow is always proportionate to the clip, and together they are always the perfect fit for her. Determining what stage she is in, mostly depends on how much hair she has. The following are guidelines to help you find the perfect fit.
Why is all of this so important?
Because just designing a prettier hair bow wasn't enough. We wanted a hair bow that would actually stay in too! We are kinda crazy that way...
Below are the 4 snap clip sizes: Stage 4 (Preschool), Stage 3 (Toddler), Stage 2 (Toddler) and Stage 1 (Infant)

Stage 1

Stage 1 ~ Where it all begins! This is the smallest clip we use, only 1 1/4" and lined with plush velvet. You will be amazed that your baldy baby girl can actually wear a bow! Only a few hairs required! Petite and perfect for newborns. (Newborns-6 months)

Stage 2

Stage 2~ The in-between stage. The place to go when that infant clip just isn't quite enough anymore! (3 months-1 year)

Stage 3

Stage 3~ Got hair? This is where the fun begins, and most toddlers are here by age 1.

Stage 4

Stage 4~ This is the "Sweep & Snap" bow. Great for girls that want to sweep back a little hair or who are growing their bangs out. Typically arriving here by age 3, this is the last stop on the snap clip express. By now, you will also be able to use our Alligator and French clips (more on this below), but this is the clip that you'll want for sweeping a little hair off to the side.

Alligator Clip & French Clip
The Alligator Clip's purpose is to decorate, not to hold hair. So, we recommend that this clip be used with a band. First, secure the hair with a rubber band then clip the bow in it. Using an Alligator Clip to sweep a little hair off to the side will always end up sliding out.
The French Clip is designed to hold a heavier bow and will also be used by securing hair with a rubber band first.
Below are some examples of different ways to use Alligator and French Clip bows.
"Kelly Doll" style. Korker Set on Alligator Clips

"Sprout" style. Part of a Ruby Set on Alligators.

"Low Piggys" style. Korker Set on Alligators.

"Pig Tales" style. Double Stacked Sheer on Alligators.
